SB 5241 Keith Duncan, M.D., Mills Peninsula Hospital (WEBCASE)

Unexpected finding during colonoscopy.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

 

SB 5242 Jeff Simko, M.D. UCSF Medical Center (S08-5537)

35 yr old male with an 8 cm kidney mass. (please refer to SB case 5236)

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

 

SB 5243 Neeraja Kambham, M.D. Stanford Medical Center (WEBCASE)

36-year-old Vietnamese male with history of relapsing and remitting inflammatory arthritis involving knees and hands for years, but has been seronegative. Now with recent onset of lower extremity rash and foamy urine. History of intake of Advil for right scapular pain. Relevant labs: Serum creatinine 1.5 mg/dL (baseline 1 mg/dl), Serum albumin 1.8 g/dL, uP/Cr ratio 7.8. Urine analysis also showed RBC casts. Chest x-ray revealed linear opacities in the lower lobes bilaterally.

SB 5244 Mahendra Ranchod, M.D. Good Samaritan Hospital (S08-4881)

76 yr old woman had laparotomy for an abdominal mass. Patient had prior vaginal hysterectomy + BSO for benign disease.

SB 5245 Joe Rabban, M.D., UCSF Medical Center (S08-9912)

61 yr old male with a several year history of esophagitis. Esophageal biopsies initially showed atypical squamous epithelium and hyperkeratosis. Patient was lost to follow up and several hears later returned with a bulky fungating exophytic esophageal mass.

SB 5246 Katherine Callahan, M.D. and John Higgins, M.D., Stanford Medical Center (SHS-08-34993)

55 yr old woman with a 24 cm left renal tumor.

SB 5247 John Higgins, M.D., Stanford Medical Center (SHS-06-38847)

64 yr old woman thought to have a hepatic abscess. An 11 cm cystic mass was resected.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

 

SB 5248 Bob Freedman, M.D. Regional Medical Center of San Jose (SP07-5816)

54 yr old woman with a left leg soft tissue mass. An 8 cm yellow gelatinous tumor is resected.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

 

SB 5249 Josh Sickel, M.D. El Camino Hospital (S01-249)

39 yr old female undergoes right thyroid lobectomy for a 2 cm cold nodule. Histologic sections show no evidence of capsular or vascular invasion.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

 

SB 5250 Josh Sickel, M.D., El Camino Hospital (S07-14490)

79 yr old woman with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis presents with increased shortness of breath and worsening pulmonary function tests.
