SB 5101 Walden Browne, MD, PhD & Grace Kim, MD UCSF (S07-6248)

A 17 YO woman on dialysis underwent a liver transplant and the explant weighed

1976 gm, measured 26 x 16 x 11 cm, had a smooth capsule and multiple parenchymal cysts ranging from 0.5-1.8 cm in size.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5102 Ankur Sangoi, MD & Roger Warnke, MD Stanford Univ. Medical Center (S06-47035) A 47 YO woman with a history of Hodgkin’s lymphoma, with a mediastinal mass and a clinical diagnosis of recurrence v. lung CA.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5103 Tarik Tahan, MD, PhD UCSF (S07-7957)

A 42 YO woman presented to the ER with a 5 week history of headache and intermittent diplopia had a large frontal mass with encroachment of the corpus callosum, mass effect and edema on CT and MRI. The initial craniotomy at an outside institution had to be aborted because of heavy blood loss.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5104 Hannes Vogel, MD Stanford Univ. Medical Center (SHS07-3913) (Web Case)

A 74 YO woman with a several month history of weakness, weight loss and lightheadedness was found to have a uniformly enhancing pituitary mass with optic chiasm compression on imaging studies. A 1 x 0.5 x 0.3 cm aggregate of irregular soft tan tissue was received.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5105 Greg Moes, MD Kaiser Permanente, Oakland (S07-5248)

A 50 year old woman with a 4.5 x 4.4 x 5.0 cm homogeneous mass with flecks of calcification straddling the inter lobular fissure between the left upper and lower lobes of lung underwent needle biopsy.

A 53 YO man with a left glabellar lesion had a 2 x 1.5 x 0.5 cm, pentagonal skin fragment excised.

SB 5107 Joe Rabban MD, PhD & Laurel Waters, MD UCSF (S07-1459) Web Case

A 25 YO woman incidentally found to have multiple, 0.2-0.4 cm, pelvic peritoneal nodules found during a tubal ligation procedure.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5108 Joe Rabban, MD PhD UCSF (ZS07-5356)

A 21 YO woman with a palpable breast mass which has recurred several times over 14 years. The current specimen is from the latest recurrence at age 35.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5109 Jeff Simko, MD UCSF (S06-10427)

A 51 YO man with a recurrent mass of the right cheek underwent biopsy and soft, red fragments were received.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

 

SB 5110 Jeff Simko, MD UCSF (S06-13559)

A 59 YO man S/P kidney transplant with a multinodular left testis mass had an 89 gm, 7.5 cm testis removed and the parenchyma was replaced by soft pink-yellow tumor.
