SB-5021 Joe Rabban, M.D. UCSF Medical Center (ZS06-9475)

A 47 year old woman with adnexal masses underwent hysterectomy and with the exception of leiomyomata, the uterine corpus and cervix were unremarkable. (Section is of cervix).

A 59 year old woman with a 16 cm solid and cystic ovarian mass found incidentally during laparotomy for an acute abdomen.

A 23 year old woman with a plantar mass had a 0.5 x 0.5 x 0.2 cm tan tissue fragment excised.

SB-5024 Greg Rumore, M.D., Kaiser Medical Center, Oakland (OAKS 06-11202) WEB CASE

A 63-year-old male with a two month history of a posterior scalp nodule who recalls being bitten by an insect at the same site while on vacation in Brazil. (The images are of scrapings of the lesion made by the dermatologist).

A 56-year-old man with bilateral cervical lymphadenopathy for one year had a right cervical lymph node excised.

A 50-year-old man with a right tentorial mass had multiple firm, tan brown fragments aggregating to approximately 6 0.5 x 5.0 x 1.4 cm removed.

SB-5027 R. Kempson, M.D. and Reet Pai, M.D., Stanford Univ. Medical Center (SHS-06-44785)

A 31-year-old man had an enlarging mass in the right neck which occupied the parapharyngeal space with effacement of the pterygoid muscles and extending to the skull base.

A 75 year old woman presented with a large retroperitoneal mass adjacent to the left kidney and the specimen received includes an 18 cm portion that envelops but is grossly demarcated from the kidney.

A 51 year old woman with a history of papillary thyroid carcinoma was found on CT scan to have a renal mass which was a well circumscribed 6 x 6 x 5 cm, friable, yellow, waxy lesion.

A 21 year old woman with a history of lupus and chronic renal insufficiency underwent bilateral labial excision. (Gross photos on the web site)
