SB 5141 Strongyloidiasis

Diagnostic Tally: Microsporidiosis�2, nematode NOS�3, Strongyloides�25.

Follow-up: Stool O+P: positive for eggs. Patient treated and doing well.

 

SB 5142 Hepatocellular carcinoma with pseudoglandular (acinar) differentiation

Diagnostic Tally: Metastatic carcinoma�3, germ cell tumor�2, neuroendocrine carcinoma�10, hepatocellular carcinoma�5.

 

SB 5143 Subinvolution of placental site

Diagnostic Tally: Vasculopathy, NOS�3, subinvolution of placental site-30.

Diagnostic Tally: Alveolar proteinosis�5, pulmonary edema, NOS-5.

SB 5147 Pulmonary adenocarcinoma with micropapillary features

Diagnostic Tally: Adenocarcinoma with papillary features�30, bronchioalveolar Ca�2.

Follow-up: One year post-diagnosis, patient has developed pleural effusion with malignant cells.

 

SB 5148 Pleuropulmonary synovial sarcoma

Diagnostic Tally: Pulmonary blastoma-15, synovial sarcoma-15, metastatic stromal sarcoma-2.

IPOX results: EMA+, AE1/3+, Bcl-2+; desmin, actin, CD34, S100 and calretinin�all negative. FISH: break in SYT gene "consistent with synovial sarcoma". RT-PCR studies for SYT-SSX1/SSX2 fusion product negative.

Consultation: Stanford-synovial sarcoma, UCSF-synovial sarcoma.

Clinical follow-up: patient dead of disease (14 mos post dx)

 

SB 5149 Hepatocellular "adenoma" of placenta

Diagnostic Tally: Hepatocellular adenoma�unanimous
